Painting with Tina Garrett

Been having FUN! I had the good fortune to study with Tina Garrett in her studio in Lee's Summit, MO.  Tina is a fantastic instructor, very warm and gracious! Learning from and spending time with, other artists is always a good thing.  When I had the opportunity to study with Tina and squeeze it into my own teaching schedule, I "seized the day". Doing something for me, to expand my horizons was long overdue!  Sadly the time just went too fast!

But Good News!  I have invited Tina to give a workshop for my students and anyone else who loves to paint people. I will be hosting her workshop in April, 2018.

Tina Garrett Workshop Info

Hi Artists,
I have the opportunity to bring artist Tina Garrett to teach here in St. Louis.

Tina is an Art Renewal Center ARC Associate Living Master and multiple award winning painter. You can see samples of her work at www.tinagarrett.com and below. She is available to teach here April 8, 9 & 10, 2018 9am to 4pm daily. The sign up fee, which you would pay to me, is $75 to cover model costs, etc. The workshop fee would be $300 per person paid directly to Tina on or before March 1st 2018. All fees are non refundable unless Tina cancels. 

To make sure everyone has plenty of room and plenty of time with Tina there will be only 7 spots available total.

P.S. I’m also looking for three models to pose for Tina’s morning demonstrations and again in the afternoon for the group to paint them. Models will pose for their head and neck portrait taking breaks every 20 minutes and have an hour lunch from noon to 1pm. Models are paid $10 per hour and will earn tips from the group painters. Please let me know if you are interested in modeling.

Starting Methods for Beginning Portraiture with Tina Garrett  Sunday - Tuesday, April 8, 9 & 10, 2018  Tuition:  $300 plus $75 model fee(All levels)
All levels are welcome to participate in this comprehensive study of oil painting starting methods with ARC (Art Renewal Center) Associate Living Master, Tina Garrett, including, open grisaille, accurate color wash, and Tina’s favorite, selective start. Students will learn to understand form, value, temperature, edges and composition as well as color mixing. She will demonstrate how to control your palette for accurate values and color and provide insights on posing the model, lighting and painting materials. Tina will demonstrate from the live model each morning and assist artists individually each afternoon and will share her philosophy on painting from photographs vs. painting from life.
